Working from home doesn't need to be solitary, in fact you can create a really rich social environment of people and activities you choose, versus those chosen by your employer. cc: @kevinroose twitter.com/photomatt/stat…

This is the book about the early days of @automattic, in case it's helpful for anyone working distributed or remote. twitter.com/beaulebens/sta…

A blog post in which I try several thousand dollars worth of different mics and headsets, to find that the cheapest Sennheiser USB one had some of the highest quality: ma.tt/2020/03/dont-m…

Read this thread. Many companies are pleasantly surprised by how well things are going right now, it may be much worse when they start bringing people back to the office. "Hybrid" is tough. twitter.com/sytses/status/…

I'm rooting for @Airbnb, it's a great example of a company that grew breathtakingly fast and still imbues a deep sense of care to their product and community. Go get 'em @bchesky @jgebbia @nathanblec !

My life's mission, and the purpose of WordPress, is to increase the freedom of the internet. I hope in addition to native apps people continue to create websites and web apps that provide accessibility, autonomy, and freedom to the widest audience. Future generations deserve it.

Congrats on buying CNET, @RedVentures + @RicElias! CNET was an early large adopter of WordPress, and they got me to drop out of college and move to SF. They are near and dear to my heart, and if there's any way that @WordPressVIP can help on the tech side let me know.

I wanted to share with you all a short film I made with the help of Stephen Bollinger, with videos I made a few years ago on a photography trip to Iceland with @om and @markkawano. I hope it provides five minutes of serenity in your day. youtube.com/watch?v=5Vj8DW…

If you missed it, make sure to catch up on the State of the Word. It was a year @WordPress grew more than any year since we started tracking in 2011, and it's important to know why: ma.tt/2020/12/sotw-2…

Good day to check if your website auto-updates the copyright year in your footer. (Every decent @WordPress theme does, natch.)

I took a different approach for the pandemic edition of "What's in My Bag", lots of links and items I wouldn't normally mention or include: ma.tt/2021/01/whats-…

I hope that this banning of @element_hq is a temporary mistake and rectified soon, it's used by open source projects, governments, universities... it's the best candidate to be the WordPress of messaging. element.io/blog/element-o…
