Question: If you use apps for specific habits like... Meditation: Calm, Headspace, Waking Up, etc Fitness: Fitbit, StrongLifts, etc Diet: MyFitnessPal, etc What is the main benefit you receive? What is the one feature that, if they removed it, you would feel disappointed?

Almost every IPhone app start up failed during the explosion of apps during the launch of the iPhone App Store … that didn’t mean iPhone apps weren’t a huge new important consumer trend. Same will Happen with nfts … most will fail .. some will become “Uber and Instagram”

Multiple ways to build a social network: - Come for the tool, stay for the network (e.g. Instagram, Musical.ly) - Come for the network, stay for the tool/data the network creates (e.g. LinkedIn, Product Hunt, Quora, On Deck) Either way, the wedge has to be amazing twitter.com/david__booth/s…

One #VMworld announcement I'm particularly excited about is Project Monterey, which is re-architecting the data center, cloud and edge to address the needs of next-gen apps such as AI/ML/5G apps. youtube.com/watch?v=YuSCut…

As more contractual breaches like #robinhood appear, the need for trustworthy contracts that go beyond a brand's paper promises will be highly in-demand. Trustworthy contracts is what blockchains, smart contracts and oracles combine to provide via #DeFi. youtu.be/dC3PUvHbVDQ?t=… pic.twitter.com/8hzfZkvCCW

My estimate is ~$20B of equity positions equates to +$10/share of $Uber. Crowded scenes at airports like LAX signal surge of ridership coming+ability to ↗️ prices leads to better margins+growth UberEats+cloudkitchens potential =Potential to +$10/share=$68/share =$130B+market cap. twitter.com/tanayj/status/…

The best startups do what your parents told you NOT to do: * Don't get into a stranger's car --> @Uber * Don't sleep in a stranger's house --> @Airbnb * Don't talk to strangers --> @Tinder * Don't play video games all day --> @Twitch * Don't be lazy --> @Doordash

First they ban accounts. Then, they ban apps. Finally, they will block websites.

The lesson of Clubhouse is that live video is a bug, not a feature.

There’s only one technology stack capable of taking on government-backed gatekeepers, and it ain’t free mobile apps.

Decentralized apps are open source but protect value, since the data is secured by blockchain consensus. Every new project plugs into every other project. A new feature anywhere becomes available everywhere. Unimaginably capable Dapps will overwhelm legacy centralized apps.

Legacy apps: unsecured data, closed source. Decentralized apps: secured data, open source.

77% of @heyhey customers use our iOS app. If Apple had been successful with their threat to kick us out of the App Store last summer, we would have been dead. Also, love the "scrutiny is reasonable BUT THERE'S NOTHING TO SEE" doublespeak. twitter.com/munster_gene/s…

Imagine being able to actually compete against Gmail and iCloud mail without fighting with one hand tied behind our back! Customers could signup directly in the apps. No more confusing second, dead-end pathway to shuttle app users down to comply with Apple's gag order 😍

Another day, another capricious, non-sensical rejection from the App Store. Despite clearly being a client for an existing service, Apple is demanding that the developer implements Sign-In with Apple, even if they don't control the service. Just 🤯 world.hey.com/khoahong/just-…

Kosta keeps finding these disgraceful scams in Apple's App Store. They're all running on Apple's billing platform. So clearly simply taking a cut of the business is not enough for Apple to ensure things are safe. Almost like it's just a talking point not an action point! twitter.com/keleftheriou/s…

This thread explains so much. Why the App Store is full of scams, why rulings are so arbitrary, why its impossible to get clear answers. Apple hires essentially unskilled people to do the reviews, yet claims they're necessary to protect people. You can't have it both ways! twitter.com/PatrickMcGee_/…

Read this thread. Who is even running this App Store? As much as I've come to accept that there's absolutely malice involved, and not just incompetence, this is a strong argument for a potent mix of both. twitter.com/keleftheriou/s…

If the App Store can't even protect you from getting scammed with MEDICAL APPS, then what's even the point? This is just an astounding level of negligence paired with Apple's seal of approval resulting in a multi-million dollar scam that's been going for a long time. YIKES. twitter.com/cabel/status/1…

It blows my mind that Apple would choose the ostrich method for dealing with scams in the App Store. That they literally used to have a method for reporting them, but THEY TOOK IT OUT?? And now millions of dollars have been lost to scams. See no evil, hear no evil, be the evil. twitter.com/keleftheriou/s…

Kosta just keeps finding the corrupt, the sleazy, and the truly bizarre in the App Store. What is Apple spending all those billions from the 30% tax on? It sure isn't operating an actually safe, secure, and sanctioned store of apps. Anyway, off to install this for our 5-year old! twitter.com/keleftheriou/s…

I mean, the category name seems way off.... but I got onboarded onto @vimcal yesterday and can confirm it is absolutely incredible. Night and day difference from any cal app I’ve used, very obviously worth the price. Maybe it’s “Craftsman-SaaS” Tools that take users seriously twitter.com/hvpandya/statu…

I'm rooting for @Airbnb, it's a great example of a company that grew breathtakingly fast and still imbues a deep sense of care to their product and community. Go get 'em @bchesky @jgebbia @nathanblec !
