People interested to hear what I read: About 15% of what I read are “practical” books about investing, leadership or psychology/human performance. The rest is mostly novels. One book I loved recommended to me by @nfergus and loved by @GavinSBaker is amazon.com/Three-Body-Pro…

I've been fascinated for years by "mindset" since reading Josh Waitzkin's Art of Learning which referred to Carol Dwek's book by that title. We all know about the importance of a "growth" mindset versus a "fixed" mindset in every aspect of life from parenting to investing.

It's difficult to compete as an investor now if you don't expand your investable universe into private securities. First, you miss the best entry points; second you will not be tuned into the new innovators that maybe about to disrupt your public cos. ft.com/content/23f71b…

I get super inspired by some people in different seemingly unrelated fields from my own. I once saw @aaronjawshomoki at an exhibition at the Vans skate park in Williamsburg where he dropped onto a “pool” exploded out of it and jumped a fence then landed 30’ below.

Michael Eisenberg is one of the most interesting people in V.C. Orthodox and based in Jerusalem, he has built an amazing portfolio and organization purpose -driven by the principles of Torah. Personally, I can’t wait for the ability to travel back to the Promised Land. twitter.com/mikeeisenberg/…

I finally understand @chamath 's sense of humor; at least I think I do. It has a certain Rabelaisian quality of excess, satire and the absurd which some people take too literally--and which he enjoys. twitter.com/chamath/status…

"I work while my enemies slumber and take rest while they engage in drink and revelry..." Old aphorism of mine came to mind while in discussion with group of friends early this a.m. on economic trends. In retrospect was likely trying to capture the tone of Zarathustra.

I just subscribed to Common Sense with Bari Weiss bariweiss.substack.com/?utm_medium=we… shameless promotion for my friend @bariweiss ex-NYT writer's substack. I love the Substack model of decentralizing control of what we read away from the editors of the established "papers of record"

If you read books like Bernard Baruch’s autobiography about his investing a century ago, you learn he 1) invested in cutting edge technology and growth investing like steel mills and copper mines and 2) he frequently invested in private companies that subsequently went public twitter.com/ebitdaddy90/st…

I’ve been doing a deep dive into crypto lately. It is a real test of being intellectually open to new and controversial ideas. Culturally I compare bridging the crypto world with the old as akin to finding a portal @chbetween two distinct worlds in the multiverse. twitter.com/cdixon/status/…

Looking forward to reading Navy Seal and White House fellow @thisismikehayes new book celadonbooks.com/story/never-en… I've been honored to support the Navy Seal Foundation for many years and rewarded with making countless good friends through that organization including Mike.
